I can attribute my love of hairstyling to my mom as she was an amazing hairstylist and has always been my inspiration, both in life and work. I literally grew up in the beauty industry. As long as I can remember, I watched my mom interacting with salon customers, giving them such happiness via a new hairstyle, color or nail service. Her easy going demeanor and the way in which she connected with her clients is reflected in my own mannerisms and how I treat my customers. She has always been my most precious mentor. My mom owned two salons, one in Wheatridge and another in Lakewood. After losing my mom in 2000, I found the courage to open my own salon and as a tribute to her, I have used the same salon name as one of her salons, Applauze. 

It was important to me to open the salon in the same neighborhood in which both myself and my daughters live. As family is so important to us, so too is our desire to positively affect our community and provide a valued service. Applauze salon has the same warm and friendly atmosphere that you could have found in one of my mom’s salons. Applauze is both a neighborhood salon and a generational family business. Similar to how I grew up in a salon, so have my two daughters who now work alongside me. Our salon is now on the third generation of amazing stylists. I know my mom would have been so proud of what we have created. Our salon-family also extends to my two other amazing hairstylists, Tiffany and Virginia. They’ve been with me from the beginning and have been an integral part of the success of the salon. I’m so appreciative of all my stylists’ continued efforts in making Applauze one of Arvada and Westminster’s premier salons.
